Amazing Grace

Thunder rumbles in as the dark clouds threaten

And lightning rattles the eaves of our houses

Flood waters awash the country in its warpath

Earth cracks and shivers at its might.


Rain falls upon raindrops, fall upon rain in a loud gush

Over unprotected villages and village folk

The valley slips low and grey and threatened

Fear permeates every household of its destruction.

We ask ouselves

What have we humans done to so affront nature?

We worry, we falter in our beliefs

We hold The Almighty accountable for the misery that has befallen many

Amidst this climate of sadness and apprehension, the holy day arrives

Blessed lights of bright hope, poinsettas and bells of joy

And singing carols of cheerful greetings that fill the air

Men of all races are encouraged to forgive all apprehension

Come the way of brotherhood.

The Glad Season has arrived

Fear ebbs to silence and sadness floats away from this land of joy

Negativity recedes into memory

Peace becomes a yielding cushion to aid us

As we set aside disappointments.

Hope rears its sweet dance

It gives strength to the old folks and merries the young

Hope spreads with utmost ease, shining a beacon to all hearts

And kills hate which hides in the swells of the sewers.

We listen wholeheartedly as hope gathers strength

We hear sublime sweetness

It is what we hungered for

We welcome the sound, we tremble by its presence

It is all that we ever wanted

Peace.

We implore you to stay a while longer

Not just this holy season, but forever

We, children of all denominations welcome you

Peace be with all of us.
