Losang Dragpa Centre had just concluded its annual public event at Chinese Assembly Hall, KL from Friday, 10th to Sunday, 12th October 2008.
The event, named 1000 Offerings Event was held to raise awareness about Tibetan Buddhism and was presided by His Eminence, KhenRinpoche Lama Lhundrup who is the Abbot of Kopan Monastery, Kathmandu, Nepal and assisted by his entourage of gracious Sanghas.
The Hall was decorated in true gompa (prayer hall) setting found in Tibetan Buddhist temples. Colourful religious items adorned every corner of the hall. Beautiful offerings of lights brought sparkle to the already well-lit hall. Butter lamps scented the air. Fruits and flowers filled the space, adding to a scene of a fairyland place.
KL-lites of the Buddhist faith made their way into the hall and spent time partaking in the pujas and also hearing the dharma talks by KhenRinpoche. It was also great to see participants from other religious faiths joining-in the event, probably due to curiosity more than anything else; nonetheless still good.
All-in-all, it was a wonderful time for me and all there because not only did it spread dharma to the masses, but also fostered further unity amongst the members who volunteered their time to make the event successful . Although hectic, I could still sense the wonderful positive vibes amongst them as sounds of happy laughter and beautiful smiles resonated throughout the event as well as pre and post.
Sarva Mangalam! (Tibetan for "wish for all things well")
