How we present ourselves to others is important. Do we shy away like a mud-skipper tunnelling its way into the mangrove mud, or beam with confidence like a mantis stalking its prey? Do we have kind, compassionate eyes, or judgemental ones eveready to pass a verdict?
the eyes- stern or kind?
the eyes- stern or kind?
For the younger ones who often look before they hear, their perception from our body language is crucial. I often remembered how a stare from my Dad would have me frozen to a standstill; far more potent than my mom's screams and threats to get the cane whenever I was naughty. His lectures, however soft-spoken; were no-nonsense and would work wonders in setting my lil' candied-soul straight again. Whatever sneaky lies told would be blurted out just seconds after. It was that combination of a stern voice and shutter eyes that did the magic! It pretty much conveyed his intentions.
The combination had to be precisely coordinated though, if not, confusing intentions may be portrayed. My ex exercised this confusion to perfection. Body language was often stiff, speech deprived. It was often an air of total silence on the other side. I often had to break the silence, especially during our rides in the car. It left me gasping to the breath of being confused as I found myself unknown to the real feelings for me. After all, communication was supposed to play a major part in a relationship to understanding more of each other. However, this was sadly not-to-be in ours.
Still, it was always the body language at the end of whenever we parted at night that saved me from my sense of total loss. The angelic look my ex had; with eyes closed and body slowly tilting towards my left shoulder ... waiting to be loved via hugs and smooches; always did the trick and left me in desperate bliss, even more so whenever the scarce "I love you!" was professed.
Ahhhh, a sightful memory that will never be erased from my memory!
Ever felt nervous before an interview? I surely did! Not wanting to offend my future employer with any offensive gestures but at the same time, I also did not want to look meek but beaming with utmost confidence. I was told by professional people-observers to wear an angelic white shirt, nice conservative tie (well, depends on what kinda job you're after...mine was banking!) , not fold my arms when talking (being a defensive posture), not to stutter nor have a slury speech, and project a confident smile (still don't know what that meant to look like) but not to the point of looking like a court jester. Thank Tushita that the role has since reversed, myself being the interviewer instead.
And have you ever volunteered yourselves at orphanages? Try it sometime and you 'll most probably find yourself being screened by many pairs of concerned yet probing eyes, all scanning about a guy who would possibly be their frequent visitor, donor and most of all, friend. Although I delivered goodies and arranged for games in a firm but humorous manner, my body language told them the whole story. Though young, fakers would never get past their lil' probing yet soulful eyes. I passed with flying colours! :-)
In all,
My body language will never be superior, but confident and just.
My actions will be compassionate and hopeful, not harsh and unbecoming.
My eyes will be probing and kind, not judgemental and discerning.
My look would make you feel at ease and trusting.
Most importantly, I would never make you feel like a stranger; but let you come into my life to share all the passions of all goodness and if you are ready too, go through all the hardships of learning from mistakes.
After all, I'm just human, a person waiting to be loved too!

for me, eyes are the most powerful body language of all...
it can project many emotions without much movements...
XOXO
you didn't dressed as a clown to the orphanage... did you? :P but body language is definitely very important when communicating~ and i think i kinda suck at it~
AJ ~ true true. The saying goes "if looks could kill!" :)Do you use your eye-contacts to the max? wakakaka
Fable ~ I did, once only :)Cheer up, am sure you have other forms of attraction. *winks*

I learned about the arms crossing one from my lecturer yonks ago - and never ever since, crossed my arms when I'm in an argument. LOL.
Seem to ace interviews no problem - but I suppose it's because of the way I speak, I have this business like tone I can assume whenever I need to. :P
I've met with a HR manager who never look me in the eye during the whole interview (err maybe dislike girl who is prettier than them ah)! I'm sure the person who will give you a sense of love, passion, body & language will appear in your life soon :)
:O what form of attraction? my bee trapping hair? ish!
Sam ~ very true. I wuz oso taught that the crossing of arms meant that we were being defensive, which is a downside to an argument. :)
Live ~ perhaps you have killer eyes! lolz.....
Thanks, i pray the same for you as well.
Fable ~ more like your quick and effective frog tongue! :)

Was that your eyes? So sexy and deep lah. One optician told me that most criminals in the prisons have similar eyes like the one you posted where there is visible white areas below the black pupil. It means they are very pretentious in character. In another words, they can be good actors if not sitting behind the jail bars.
Twilight ~ Grrrrrrr.... it takes an optician to tell me that I'm in the wrong profession. :P

killer eyes? mine? nah! if eyes can kill, yours can do the job!
interviews are soooo not for me. hopefully i won't ever eveeerrrr go through one. :P
Live ~ Twilight said i would make a good actor. With your added comment, I'll play a good villian role then . Muahahaha
Medie aka Bong ~ Am afraid that at many points of life, you will have to. Take it positively, promotional interviews perhaps? ^_^

Yup, those who master the body language can tell a person's character even without speaking to him or her - which, is the reason why I'm afraid of people from the human resource department. LOL~!
I'm not sure what kind of body language I have coz I get all sorts of reaction from ppl. Lol!
Most ppl whom I just met will receive me warmly (sometimes to the point of oversharing info!), while others think I'm snobbish.
Nic ~ Then be very afraid when we meet! since I also interview peeps. :)
Perky ~ Thanks for ur 1st visit. :)
I believe 1st impressions cld be deceiving at times. Personally, I prefer peeps who are direct and to whom I cld gradually warm up to i/o being impressed at the beginning and disappointed later
